Volunteer Spotlight – Social Networking League at the Georgia Cancer Center

The Social Networking League (SNL) of the Georgia Cancer Center is a group of both clinical and non-clinical staff from around our different locations. Our group’s mission is to boost the morale of our staff, as well as our patients, through different events over the course of the year. These can be fun, silly events for staff or fundraisers/supply drives for organizations that we know help our patients around the CSRA and AU Health campus. 2020 was a challenging year for all of us, particularly those in healthcare. However, a common core makeup of healthcare workers is our desire to give. As we were approaching the holidays, SNL knew we wanted to do an event that would be both fun and give to those we think about the most during the time of year of treats, gifts, and the wonder of Santa – children. That is why we chose to have a Bake Sale that raised funds for the Ronald McDonald House, which we know does a great deal for our pediatric cancer patients. Plus, cookies for us! We were so happy that we were able to contribute $370 to the House’s mission. From everyone in SNL and from the Georgia Cancer Center Family as a whole, we hope this was able to help out in some small way during the holidays!
