20 May Volunteer Spotlight – Alpha Pi Chi National Sorority

Alpha Pi Chi National Sorority, Incorporated is a national organization consisting of more than forty chapters divided into three regions of the United States located in the Northeast, Southeast, and Midwest. The organization’s focus is on education and community service.  Alpha Beta Chapter, a Southeast Region chapter located in Augusta, GA, provides support and service to the residents throughout the CSRA.  The chapter has a membership of eleven women who have an increased sense of social responsibility and a heart for “giving back” and helping others.  Members are Jan Johnson, President, Mary Burns, 1^st Vice President, Elizabeth Jackson, 2^nd Vice President, Cheryl Dunn, 3^rd Vice President, Bertha Johnson, Financial Secretary, Sandra Nesbitt, Recording Secretary, Renetha Larkins, Treasurer, Dorian Lambert, Ruby Dunn, Rev. Vickey Beeks, and Pearl Oliphant.  Alpha Beta chapter has provided numerous financial scholarships to deserving high school students and has volunteered their time at various organizations in the community.  Our desire is to help make someone’s day more pleasant and help to improve the challenges and circumstances of those in need.
