22 Jul The Savannah River Challenge
Last month I outlined our 4 Phase House Reinstatement Plan to return to full operation. Well, you know what they say about best-laid plans…we are changing course in reaction to the recent spike in COVID activity in our area. We are pausing at Phase 2 and will stay here until we feel it is safe for families and staff to move forward to Phase 3. We welcome families who need to stay with us as long as they have recent negative COVID tests. As always, first-time requests must come from the hospital and subsequent stays can be made directly by the families.
In order to stay open, all day, every day, we need funding. Our uncertain future makes it very clear that we need to do things now to ensure a financially secure tomorrow. Read on to learn about 2 fun events that you can be a part of!
The Great Savannah River Challenge
We are virtually racing the Savannah Ronald McDonald House along the Savannah River and we want to win – with your help! There are 200 miles between Augusta and Savannah along the river and we are holding a race from our home city to the other city and home again for a total of 400 miles. We are asking our supporters to donate $25 to propel us 1 mile along the river. The first RMH to collect 400 $25 donations wins the race and bragging rights until next year. Won’t you help us? Go to our website: www.rmhcaugusta.org to make your $25 donation to move us a mile on the river. Follow our progress on our website too. We will draw One lucky Augusta donor’s name to win a kayak from Escape Outdoors. Come on Augusta…I know we can beat Savannah!!
Red Shoe Golf Classic
Join us on Monday, August 31 at West Lake Country Club for our annual Golf Tournament. The golf course is one place you can be and forget about COVID for a while and support us as well. Every year we have a great time and I would love to see as many golfers out there as possible. Come on, sign up – you know you want to!!! Go to our website www.rmhcaugusta.org to learn more.
