RMHC Augusta has been a "home away from home" for families seeking medical treatment for their sick or injured child for over 32 years. We have helped over 19,000 families, since we opened our doors in 1984.
In 2016, we served 1,203 families.
It's easy to give to RMHC Augusta! You can donate online, drop your spare change in a donation box at McDonald's, donate goods or services, or volunteer your time.
HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE?
You can sign up for a specific day, once a month or once a quarter (i.e., 3rd Monday of each month), or prepare a meal on an occasional basis. Get connected to this amazing program and find our more information and available dates by contacting Samantha Tarte, Meal Coordinator, at 706-724-5901 or email@example.com.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
All are welcome to participate in this program. Volunteers under 15 years of age must work one-on-one with parent, guardian, or adult volunteers.
WHAT KIND OF MEALS WILL I NEED TO PREPARE?
You may choose your menu. Food must be prepared onsite using the Ronald McDonald House Community Kitchen, catered from a restaurant, or purchased from a commercial kitchen. Our kitchen is available for full-scale preparation. You may keep it simple. Dinner does not have to be fancy! Check out our menu suggestions form for dinner ideas at the bottom of the page. We also appreciate recieving "one dish meals" that can be frozen for days and used when we do not have a meal donor scheduled or the meal does not arrive for one reason or another. This aspect of the meal program has proven to be very beneficial.
HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL I NEED TO PREPARE FOR?
Meal Donors can expect to prepare food for approximatlely 35 people. We suggest that you call the office the day before you are schedule to provide a meal to confirm with our staff the number of guest. All in attendance for meals include families, parent, children and guest.
WHAT ELSE WILL I NEED TO KNOW?
Dinners are served daily self-served style. We like for dinners to be ready to serve by 5pm. The families are dependent on their child, doctor and the hospital and may not eat at the same time. Because of this, we leave the food out buffet style for families to self-serve themselves. Thank you for your interest in Ronald McDonald House Charities of Augusta's Meal Program. The families greatly appreciate your support. Please feel free to call for more information.
